Clean interior finish carpentry and refinished staircase by 8 Is Enough Construction Lorain County OH

Drywall & Painting in Lorain County

Trusted by homeowners across Lorain County for 27+ years

Smooth walls and sharp paint lines are the difference between a room that feels finished and a room that doesn't. 8 Is Enough Construction handles both ends of the job — from hanging and finishing new drywall to patching damage and rolling out a clean interior repaint — so the wall you end up looking at every day actually looks right.

Whether it's a single ceiling patch after a leak, a full basement build-out that needs board, mud, tape, sand, and prime, or a top-to-bottom interior repaint before you list the house, owner Jason Sweeney brings 27 years of finish experience to the job. Same crew, same prep standards, same quality control on every wall.

We do the boring parts right: protect floors and furniture, fill and feather every nail pop, sand between coats, cut clean lines at the trim, and clean up at the end of every day. Most clients tell us the job site is cleaner when we leave than when we arrived.

Our Process

1

Walkthrough & Color Selection

We walk every wall with you, mark areas that need patching or skim coat, talk through finishes, and help with color decisions if you'd like input.

2

Prep First

Furniture moved or covered, floors protected, trim and outlets masked, drywall repairs and skim coats handled before any paint goes near a wall. Most of the quality of a paint job lives here.

3

Drywall Work

If new board is going up: hang, tape, two to three coats of mud, sand smooth, prime. If patching: cut, fit, tape, mud, feather wide, sand, prime.

4

Paint

Cut in by hand at every edge, then roll. Number of coats depends on color change and wall condition — we don't skip a coat to save time.

5

Cleanup & Walkthrough

Floors uncovered, outlets put back, walls inspected together with you under good light. Any touch-up gets done before we leave.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you do interior and exterior painting, or just interior?

Our focus is interior painting — walls, ceilings, trim, doors, and cabinets. We don't currently take on full exterior repaints.

How many paint coats do you use?

Standard is two coats over a primed or previously painted wall in good condition. Color changes (dark to light, red to white, etc.) often need three. We tell you upfront based on what we see.

Can I stay in the house during a repaint?

Yes. We work room by room, contain dust during drywall work, and use low-VOC paint by default so the air clears quickly. We coordinate with you on which rooms get worked on which days.

How long does drywall mud need to dry between coats?

Typically 12–24 hours per coat depending on temperature, humidity, and how thick the coat is. We won't sand or recoat too early — that's how you get cracks and bubbles later. The schedule respects the material.

Do you handle popcorn ceiling removal?

Yes — we scrape, skim coat smooth, sand, prime, and paint. Note that pre-1980 popcorn can contain asbestos and needs testing first; we'll flag that if it applies to your home.
